How to Remove Chocolate and Ice Cream Stains From Your Clothes? (Part 2)

We all like to relax on the couch the night after returning from work to watch our favourite movie and maybe have a hot chocolate drink at the same time. On the other hand, who can resist their children who insist on eating chocolate ice cream at home on the sofa? With these descriptions, pouring chocolate on the sofa and staining them is inevitable. You might think that removing these stains is difficult and perhaps impossible. But we need to tell you that you can get rid of chocolate and ice cream stains on clothes with simple methods and in just a few steps at home. Don’t worry, just stay tuned. In the previous part, we explained how to remove chocolate stains. In this section, we will explain how to clean ice cream.

The fifth method

To remove chocolate stains from white cloths, wash the area with soap and water. Then wash the stain again with carbon tetrachloride and wipe it completely with water and a sponge.

Removing ice cream stains from clothes

Now, if some ice cream (no matter what the taste and colour of the ice cream) spills on your clothes, first keep calm and follow the steps below:

  • If the stain is still fresh and there’s an ice cream stain on it, in the first step you should try to remove the material on the clothes as much as possible. You can do it with a disposable spoon or sponge. Just be careful not to spread the stain. Now you can start the stain removal process.
  • Turn the clothes upside down and use the cold water. Then immerse the back of the stain under the water so that the cold water wipes the material on the stain with high pressure without causing it to spread wider. If you pour cold water directly on the stain, the ice cream stain may become wider and make it harder to remove.
  • Dissolve some enzyme-containing laundry detergent, which works well at low temperatures, in cold water and apply to stains. Of course, you can also use other solvents. But before doing this, apply the desired solution on a part of the inner seam of the clothes to make sure that it doesn’t damage the texture and colour of your clothes.
  • Now you can wash the clothes in the washing machine with water at a temperature of 30 degrees. Try to use the mildest speed of the machine for this and be sure to set the water temperature to the lowest degree. Because, as you know, ice cream stains contain protein substances that, if exposed to heat, will stabilize and won’t be removed.
  • After washing, check the clothes carefully before drying or ironing to make sure there’s no ice cream stain left. Otherwise, repeat the above steps to completely remove the stain.
  • If your clothes become stained outdoors and you don’t have access to detergents, wipe the stain immediately with a tissue to make it easier to clean. Then mix some liquid soap with water and apply to the stain and rinse. If you are dealing with dried ice cream stains, be sure to soak the stains in a solution of water and washing powder for a few hours before washing clothes in the washing machine to make the staining process easier.
