How to Wash Different Fabrics?

Have you ever paid attention to your clothing label? Is it made of Raven fabric or polyester?  We wear these fabrics every day, but we have no idea how to maintain them. If you like the clothes you wear, you have to protect them adequately. As a general rule, always check your clothing care guide. Just because your clothes are made of linen doesn’t mean that you can wash them in any way you want and expect them to have the same quality as the first day.  This article will tell you how to maintain and wash all kinds of fabrics, and we hope it will be effective.

Washing different kinds of fabrics

Acrylic

This fabric was produced in the 1940s and then became widespread. Acrylic fabric, like wool or cashmere, can be very hot. That’s why it’s used in the production of jackets, socks and other winter clothes. Because the acrylic fabric is made of synthetic fibres, you can wash it in the washing machine. The best way is to wash with warm water and use a fabric softener.

Kashmir

This type of fabric is usually used to produce scarves and sweaters. We recommend that you make sure that it’s healthy and flawless before buying. It may seem strange, but you should know that this fabric is usually made from goat hair if you have a cashmere fabric. Although similar in appearance to wool, they have little in common.

Don’t use the washing machine to wash this cloth. It’s better to use a mild detergent such as fabric softener or even baby shampoo. Never hang it to dry. The best way is to wrap Kashmir in a clean towel and then spread it on a flat surface to dry completely.

cotton

Everyone loves cotton. This type of fabric is known to everyone, and almost all of us have a popular dress of this kind. Cotton exists in a special family of plant seeds. This material is very cheap and durable. The easy washing process has greatly contributed to the popularity of this fabric. You can wash it in the washing machine and hang it on a dryer. You have to pay attention to the fact that you can wash the white cotton with warm water, but it’s better to wash coloured clothes with cold water.

Denim

We all love denim. The re-fashion of jeans and denim sweaters has made them a significant part of our wardrobe. The main ingredient of denim is cotton, but it’s better not to put them in the washing machine. Instead, use the manual guide on the label for washing.

Leather/suede

Wearing leather or suede made from the tanned skins of animals (mostly cows) is very attractive and stylish. Both are vulnerable to dust and drying and require special care. Four things can destroy the leather. Chemical damage to the leather from oil or airborne particles, oxidation, crushing and wear.

It’s better to use natural leather softeners for its maintenance. You can also wash it with soap and warm water. For suede, you can use special protective materials to prevent it from drying out. All you need for washing is soap powder and a brush (or toothbrush).

Linen

Real linen is made from the flax plant. Like cotton, it’s suitable for washing in the washing machine. You can also wash suede cloths with chlorine-free detergents and warm water. For drying, just put it on the dryer or hang it in the open air.

Nylon

Nylon is another synthetic fabric (based on plastic). It’s made from commonly used polymers. Nylon, first produced in the 1940s, was originally used to make toothbrushes and socks. But now, it can be found in everything, from parachutes to guitar strings, etc.

Like other synthetic materials, nylon is very easy to care for. You can wash it in the washing machine with hot or cold water. But it’s better to wash white clothes with cold water. Also, use a low heat dryer to dry your clothes so that they don’t wrinkle.

polyester

Polyester fabric, like synthetic nylon, is made of plastic. The only difference between polyester and nylon is the spinning of the warp and weft. Polyester is less durable than nylon, but it’s still a great fabric. Low cost and no wrinkles are common features of polyester. These fabrics are used in everything from T-shirts to home appliances.

You can wash polyester clothes like nylon fabrics. These clothes are suitable for washing in the washing machine and hot water. If you use a dryer, be sure to use low heat for them.

Rayon

This fabric is also synthetic, which is produced from a combination of wood paste and other chemicals. Heat and washing reduce and eliminate its colour. If you want to wash your rayon clothes, you must use cold water and dry them in the open air.

Silk

Silk is considered one of the most luxurious fabrics in the world. These fabrics are either completely natural or a combination of silkworm cocoon fibres. Due to the delicate nature of silk garments, most of them need to be dry clean. Of course, you can wash silk with warm water and very mild detergents, too. You can clean even some silk clothes in the washing machine. But it’s better to leave this task to dry cleaning. Silk isn’t cheap!

Wool

Wool fabric is also one of the most basic fabrics in the world that is used for warm clothes such as sweaters, hats and coats. Woollen clothes are mostly washable in washing machines. But to be sure, check the guide label on the clothes before washing. We can say for sure that you shouldn’t dry these clothes with a dryer under any circumstances.

Each fabric has its own washing method. Therefore, you can’t put any fabric in the washing machine and expect it to stay healthy. After the first clothes washing clothes, many of them lose their original state and become unusable. So if you have doubts about washing a cloth, leave it to a NeatEx to Clean your fabric or clothing and keep the fabric texture healthy.
