• Next, make a mixture of two teaspoons of dishwashing liquid and two cups of cold water. Use a white cloth, sponge or soft brush to spread the material over the mud stain. Gently wipe the cloth soaked in detergent and remove it to allow soil particles to adhere to it. Clean the area with water to remove any soapy detergent residue. • If the mud spilled on the carpet had a red colour and changed the colour of the carpet, prepare a mixture containing oxygen bleach and water. • Now let the carpet dry in the open air away from heat or direct sunlight. Vacuum the carpet so that the fibres of this part return to their previous state.
