The Most Suitable Clothes For Your Children In The Winter (Part 2)

Children with weaker and more sensitive bodies get sick with cold wind, rain or snow. Sometimes, to protect them more, parents make mistakes that make them sicker. In the previous article, we reviewed some of these tips and the correct rules for better clothes for children in the winter. In this article, we will continue on these points.

Suitable clothes for children in the winter

Children’s winter clothing shouldn’t be such that it prevents them from moving. Young children who have just started walking aren’t bound in one place, so it’s necessary that they can move quickly in their clothes. Many children whine in such situations and don’t want to wear proper and adequate garments. Still, resisting and never accepting them going out in the cold weather with inappropriate clothing is essential. Here are some of the most critical dresses for children.

Cotton underwear for children in the winter

Your child’s underwear must be a layer of cotton and light and soft clothes. Suitable winter clothes and clothing have more layers. A relaxed cotton t-shirt is very convenient, particularly the ones you wear in the hot and summer seasons. Contrary to your imagination, this thin cotton dress gives him warmth and doesn’t slow or limit his movement. Try to increase the number of layers so that if the child enters a warmer environment, he can easily adjust the dress to the same domain.

Your child needs a thin layer of woollen clothing on top of his cotton underwear. A thick but comfortable jacket is enough for him, but if the weather is rainy, it’s better to wear a thin and long raincoat so that his clothes don’t get wet. The jacket isn’t heavy and is a good insulator against the cold. Instead of a vest, a soft coat can also suit him. A suitable gilet is also a perfect choice that doesn’t restrict the child’s movement; you can cover it over his clothes. So far, the baby cover is suitable for not-too-cold autumn weather. For cold and wet weather and winter days, you should increase the number of layers and wear a coat or jacket on top of the vest or jacket. No need to put on more clothes.

Coat

Seeing various colourful coats can be very tempting, but don’t forget that your child’s clothes should be beautiful, functional, and good quality. The coat you choose for your child should be waterproof or at least water-resistant. It’s better if the skin has a hat, but you can buy a separate and suitable one if it doesn’t.

Pants

Choosing the fitting pants for cold weather is recognizable for you. You can’t cover him as much as the upper torso and increase the number of layers because it will limit his movement and cause him to fall, but you can use two suitable but warm layers for this purpose. It’s better to wear thin cotton underpants, a pair of jeans fit for not very cold days, and waterproof, layered, and thick pants for cold and snowy days.

Socks

Socks are essential, especially for younger children. Very thick socks will bother the child by wearing shoes, but a pair of waterproof and almost warm socks is enough for him. If it’s snowing outside, a waterproof sock is excellent, but if it’s just cold and not humid, a wool sock that’s not too thick, but a little long enough to reach up to the legs, is acceptable. If the weather is freezing, it’s better to bring an extra pair of socks, especially if you’ve gone snowshoeing, don’t forget the extra socks. It’s even better to wear a skinny pair of socks with a slightly thicker and longer sock on top, but that’s for cold and wet weather.

Hat and gloves

Both hats and gloves are essential in cold weather, especially hats. The cap keeps the child’s head warm and helps prevent the cold from penetrating his neck and body. For winter, hats that are longer and cover the ears are suitable. A scarf is fine, but considering how active they are, you can’t expect much to hold the scarf, but a long, strappy hat that covers the ears well is much better and won’t bother the baby.

Be sure to choose a thick and layered hat so moisture doesn’t penetrate it. Gloves get wet quickly in cold and snowy weather. So getting a pair of waterproof gloves for your child is better. Gloves that are bag-shaped and don’t have separate fingers are perfect, but children prefer not to use these gloves when playing and moving.

Shoe

Shoes and socks should match each other. If you don’t wear the right shoes for your child’s feet, the toes will quickly get wet and cold. It’s better to use waterproof shoes for cold and snowy weather. There’s no need to wear very thick socks in suitable and waterproof shoes.

Suitable clothing for the baby in the winter season

The covering for the baby in different seasons of the year is the concern of many parents, especially in the cold winter. Lowering the baby’s body temperature in the cold causes a dangerous complication called hypothermia (frostbite) and disrupts the functioning of the baby’s various organs.

Cover your baby from head to toe.

It’s better to prevent the temperature of the baby’s body from falling and frostbite of his fingers and toes. Cover all the body parts except the face (wear a hat, gloves and a winter hat). It’s necessary to use a cap that protects the heat of your baby’s head against the reduction of moisture in the brain. Note that the type of cover shouldn’t make the baby feel suffocated and restless. Look for a dress with a hat attached to put on your child’s head quickly. The cap should also cover your child’s ears well. If not, put a woollen hat under the dress hat. Touch the hat’s inside to ensure the fabric isn’t rough and won’t irritate your baby’s skin. Many baby hats are covered with wool fabric, which makes them comfortable and insulated. Choose a hat with a strap to tie under the baby’s chin. In this way, the child is less likely to remove it.

Using several layers of clothing for coverage

It’s important to know that using a thick layer isn’t a good cover for newborn babies, and causes breathing problems, so using several layers of thinner clothes can provide your baby comfort. Also, the use of many layers isn’t very suitable.

The first layer of the baby’s cover should be soft, gentle and hypoallergenic.

When choosing the first layer of your baby’s cover, be careful that the fabric you select is hypoallergenic. Unique clothes for the baby’s upper body should be cotton; it’s better to use wool for the lower body. Also, improper washing of baby clothes can cause skin sensitivity.

Using a suitable blanket outdoors

Wrapping a blanket around your baby is recommended to ensure that he stays warm and maintains his body temperature in the open air. Please note that using a thick blanket, especially when sleeping, can be dangerous for your baby.

Bringing extra clothes indoors for children in the winter

When you take your baby from the open space to a closed area like a car, warm the inside room enough before entering. After entering, take off your baby’s extra clothes. You can use a thin blanket until the environment is sufficiently heated.

Take off extra clothes while sleeping.

Using many layers of clothes or a thick blanket when the baby sleeps can be dangerous. Because during sleep, breathing is weaker than when the baby is awake, and using extra clothes will disturb your baby’s breathing and cause suffocation. Therefore, instead of using blankets and extra clothes, you should adjust the environment’s temperature.

Using thick socks instead of shoes for children in the winter

Babies can’t walk, and using special baby shoes in any season of the year causes your baby to be tired and restless. So getting thick baby socks instead of shoes can be a better option for your baby’s comfort. Of course, when the weather is freezing and you’re outside, boots and shoes should be used briefly. Protect your child’s feet with thick socks, then wear boots. Boots prevent the child’s feet from getting too cold. However, it can be challenging to find suitable boots for a baby. So, if you can’t find the right one, you can put some socks on the baby’s feet.

Touching the toes and abdomen to detect body temperature

One of the best ways to know the temperature of your baby’s body is to touch his toes; by doing this, you can learn how cold the body is. Also, by knowing the heat of your baby’s belly and back, you can notice the high temperature of the baby’s body. Wearing extra clothes prevented the baby’s body temperature from rising.

Gloves for children in the winter

Since a baby’s fingers are tiny, these fingers freeze very quickly. So it’s essential to use gloves to protect your child’s fingers. Choose gloves that the baby can’t easily remove.

Adjusting the temperature of the baby’s room

One of the essential points you should observe in maintaining your baby’s body temperature is setting the bedroom temperature in standard mode. According to the standard, the temperature of the baby’s room should be between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius during the night.
